Welcome to my corner of the world. I’m Kelly Clevenger, the Children’s Pastor at Horizons. Jesus intentionally made children a part of His ministry, whether it was using a boy’s lunch to feed a hungry crowd or inviting children into his inner circle to play and learn. The Bible tells us that some adults walked away from Jesus, angry and dis- interested, but whenever children showed up in Jesus’ ministry, they always ran to him not away from him. We want to replicate that spirit in our Children’s ministry. We want to give kids high impact lessons that make their life with Jesus fun and exciting. When parents come to me and say, “My kids love it here!” I know we are getting it right.
Kids want their lives to count too. Their world is full of school, family, friends and activities. They don’t have to wait until they grow up to make an impact. They can Live to make a difference right now! But to do that they need a “rock solid” relationship with Jesus and loving relationships with adults and peers. We believe those goals are best achieved:
As kids experience high energy, age appropriate, worship and a creative teaching time aimed at real life application.
As kids experience a small group led by nurturing Adults where they can ask questions, learn to pray and internalize the day’s lesson on a deeper level.
As kids participate in weekly ministries and special service projects.
We work hard to make the children’s ministry safe, rock solid and lots of fun! We want your kids to love it here.
