When Jesus searched for a word picture to describe His followers, He chose two. He called us “the salt of the earth” and “the light of the world” (Matthew 5:13-16). Both images depict us as change agents. Light dispels darkness and salt seasons and preserves the food it touches. You and I have a choice, we can live for pleasure, power, comfort and wealth or we can Live to Make a Difference! We make this choice a dozen times a day: in the way we raise our kids, how we do our jobs, the way we treat our neighbors, how we spend our money and how we do church. As followers of Christ we can leave our fingerprints on the world or we can live a “hands off” life.
