You Have A Mission! You may not be aware of what that mission is or maybe you’re simply not aware that what you are already doing could actually be your mission. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 2:10 …we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God has prepared in advance for us to do.

This week I was stopped by the funeral home to visit woman whose father had just passed away. While I talked to her husband I discovered that they had chosen to spend the last 15 months caring for his father-in-law. They actually left their home to move in with him so they could be fultime caregivers. Though it was tough in some ways, he said that it was a very good experience for their family. Someone told him that in a way he and his wife were like missionaries. They had left their home and all it’s conveniences to meet the needs of someone who needed their help. They were an extension of God’s love.

So what’s your mission? There’s a pretty good chance that the majority of us won’t have to go to Cambodia, Haiti or some other remote destination to find the “good works” that God has prepared for you to do. Take a look around, you may discover that an important part of you purpose may be as close as your neighborhood or your community. Leave a comment and tell me what you’re doing for “God’s sake”.
