Faithful Presence in Cambodia: Horizons Church and
the Ministry of Ted & Sou Olbrich
A donation of $280 is designed to fully support an orphan by providing for their physical, educational, and spiritual needs. Specifically, this amount:
• Feeds, clothes, shelters, and educates an orphan for an entire year.
• Ensures that the gospel is shared with them and that they are trained and equipped to know Jesus.
• Provides the resources to get children off the streets, protecting them from being trafficked, abused, or exploited by "wicked industries".
• Prepares them to eventually return to their communities as "salt and light," capable of transforming their world with the gospel.

From the earliest days of Horizons Church, missions have been part of our heartbeat. Over the years, our church family has supported short-term mission efforts around the world, and we now stand at the threshold of launching our first full-time field missionaries of our own. Yet long before this new chapter, God invited us into a partnership that has quietly shaped who we are: our enduring relationship with Ted and Sou Olbrich and their ministry in Cambodia.
Ted and Sou began serving in Cambodia in the late 1990s, responding to God’s call in a nation still bearing deep scars from war, genocide, and poverty. What began as compassionate outreach to vulnerable children grew, over decades of faithful labor, into a wide-reaching movement of church planting, leadership development, and community care through FCOP International (Foursquare Cambodia).
Horizons Church has had the privilege of walking alongside this work for many years—supporting, praying, and rejoicing as God brought fruit through their obedience. Through their ministry, children found safety and belonging, pastors were trained and equipped, and churches were planted in communities that had never known the hope of the gospel. The work in Cambodia has never been about numbers alone, but about presence—staying, listening, loving, and trusting God for growth over time.
In 2023, Ted went home to be with the Lord. His passing marked the end of a faithful life poured out for Christ, but not the end of the story. The ministry continues under Sou’s leadership alongside Cambodian pastors and leaders who now carry the work forward. The churches planted, the leaders trained, and the lives transformed stand as living testimony to God’s faithfulness across generations.
As Horizons Church looks ahead—raising up and sending new missionaries—we do so with gratitude for the legacy we’ve been invited into. Our partnership with Ted and Sou reminds us that missions is not a moment, but a long obedience in the same direction. It is patient, relational, and rooted in trust that God is always at work, even when the harvest takes time.
