Missions
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…”
Cambodia // Sou Olbrich, FCOP International
Horizons Church has walked alongside missionaries Ted and Sou Olbrich in Cambodia for decades. Through their ministry with FCOP International, thousands of lives have been transformed — from orphaned children finding loving community to villages hearing the gospel for the first time. Their legacy of church planting, discipleship, and compassion continues to bloom across Cambodia. Read their story and watch the interview that captures both the history and heart of this enduring partnership.
South Africa // Joe & Abbey Barnosky, ABWE
Joe and Abbey Barnosky are the first full-time field missionaries commissioned and sent by Horizons Church. Serving in Durban, South Africa, they partner with local churches to strengthen gospel witness through discipleship, media, and practical ministry. Joe equips pastors and church leaders with communication and technology tools rooted in sound doctrine, while Abbey serves women and families through training and care that reflects Christ’s compassion. Together, their work represents a new chapter in Horizons’ missions story—faithful presence, thoughtfully applied, and grounded in long-term obedience.
From Central America to the far reaches of Africa, God has called Horizons to support His global mission.
Long-term history of Short-Term Support
Horizons Church has long believed that missions are lived out through steady obedience as much as bold calling. For many years, our longtime youth pastor, Don Skidmore, has faithfully led teams to Haiti, returning again and again to serve, build relationships, and walk alongside local ministry partners. We also support several young adults who are serving around the world today—one training and discipling with YWAM in Hawaii, and others who regularly serve in Liberia and Kenya—backed by the prayers and generosity of our church family. Earlier in our history, Horizons sent a team to Belize to support missionaries from West Virginia who now worship with us in retirement. These moments, spread across places and generations, reflect a simple conviction: when God opens a door, we go, and we go together.
