At Horizons, we believe that following Jesus is a journey, not a destination. Whether you’ve been here for one week or one year, there’s always a next step to take as we learn to Live to Make a Difference together.
1. Go Public with Your Faith in baptism
Baptism is an outward declaration of an inward decision. If you have decided to follow Jesus, we invite you to make that public profession of faith with your church family. It’s a powerful moment where we celebrate the "new life" you’ve found in Christ.
Why it matters: It connects you with Christ’s death and resurrection and identifies you with His family.
How to start: Watch our short Online Baptism Class and register for our next baptism service—whether it’s in our sanctuary or at our historic river site.
2. Connect with others in community groups
We weren’t meant to do life alone. While Sundays are great for worshiping together as a large church, Community Groups are where the "big" church starts to feel like a small family. These are casual gatherings in homes and coffee shops where we eat, pray, and grow together.
Why it matters: Real life change happens in the context of relationships. A Community Group is a safe place to be known, supported, and encouraged.
How to start: We have groups meeting all across north central West Virginia. Whether you’re looking for a group based on your location or your stage of life, we’ll help you find the right fit.
3. Find Your Place in the Family
Membership is more than just joining a list; it’s about finding your purpose within our community. In our Membership Class, you’ll learn who we are, what we believe, and how you can play a vital part in what God is doing through Horizons. Attending the class is not an immediate commitment — you have time to explore more and decide!
Why it matters: Membership moves you from being a guest to being a partner in our mission to change lives.
